Some bus companies are picking up travelers from Otopeni airport directly;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 stay over the night in Bucharest and take a morning train to Iasi;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 take a train \/ a sleeping car or a bus to Iasi, so you can go straight to \u201cGara de Nord\u201d (la Gare du Nord\/ North Railway station) or the center of Bucharest.<\/p>\n<p>The basic idea is to arrive in Bucharest between 8:00 in the morning and 17-18:00 in the evening, in order to catch a bus to the center of Bucharest or to \u201cGara de Nord\u201d (la Gare du Nord\/ North Railway station).<\/p>\n<p>For the ride to Bucharest \u2013 Gara de Nord, take a honest taxi driver like UBER \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uber.com\/ro\/en\/ride\/\">https:\/\/www.uber.com\/ro\/en\/ride\/<\/a>\u00a0or \u201cMERIDIAN\u201d-<a href=\"http:\/\/www.meridiantaxi.ro\/\">http:\/\/www.meridiantaxi.ro\/<\/a>,\u00a0or \u201cMONDIAL\u201d \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/taximondial.ro\/index-en.php\">http:\/\/taximondial.ro\/index-en.php<\/a>\u00a0or the one recommended by the airport.\u00a0The private taxi drivers ask too much money :-).<\/p>\n<p>A bus ride to Gara de Nord: about 20 \u2013 30 minutes; cost: about 10-15 Euros paid in ROL= lei \u2013 you can exchange currency in the airport.\u00a0Routes as well as any bus in Bucharest information can be found at STB -Transport Society Bucuresti\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stbsa.ro\/eng\/index\">http:\/\/www.stbsa.ro\/eng\/index<\/a>\u00a0(bus 780).<\/p>\n<p>Take a first class train ticket (it\u2019s really cheap for you, approx. 20 euros) in a high class train (IRN, IR, IC).<\/p>\n<p>You can also travel by sleeping car (23:30). The ride takes about 6 hours 18 min. (arrive in Iasi in the morning).<\/p>\n<p>Abbreviations: IC = interCity, IRN =\u00a0InterRegioNight, IR = interRegio (rapid and accelerate trains) R = regio (regional train).<\/p>\n<p>Do not take R = personal, it\u2019s low class, slow and not comfortable.<br \/>\nTrains timetable can be found on the website<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www1.cfrcalatori.ro\/en\/\">https:\/\/www1.cfrcalatori.ro\/en\/<\/a><\/strong>. (UE countries, Republic of Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine are among of the countries the nationals of which are exempted to obtain a short-stay visa in order to travel to Romania, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation EU 1806\/2018). Also, for period under 90 days, their citizens do not need residence permit.<\/li>\n<li>If the duration of your Erasmus+ mobility is longer than 3 months, a residence permit is needed.
